What an exciting way to kick off the fall semester! More than 420 guests from across campus and the community attended our reception last month, celebrating the reopening of UNMAM’s public exhibition program.

We were delighted to welcome UNM President Steve Goldstein, UNM Board of Regents Secretary-Treasurer Paula Tackett and UNM Board of Regents Member Patricia Williams, along with students, colleagues and friends. Also, UNM Vice Provost for Student Success Pamela Cheek and UNM College of Fine Arts Dean Harris Smith shared remarks.

Our collaborations with UNM Printmaking Lab Manager Adam Berman and the UNM Print Club, along with UNM Arita Porcelain Professor of Practice Kathryne Cyman and the UNM Porcelain Club, were a great success. Along with selling original artworks, Print Club members printed special fall 2026 opening and other T-shirts. Porcelain Club members sold their Arita porcelain pieces and assisted guests trying their hands at a potter’s wheel.

As part of the fall opening celebration, UNM Print Club member Nick Bland (left) and UNM Printmaking Lab Manager Adam Berman (right) print a shirt featuring the event’s special UNMAM design. UNMAM Marketing Assistants collaborated on the design and Print Club member Anna Maraziti carved the block used to print it.

Thank you to everyone who brought their energy, creativity, enthusiasm and support! It was a wonderful start to a new season at UNMAM.
