Join us for a conversation with former Curator of Education Traci Quinn and artists León de La Rosa-Carrillo (Art Department at Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez) and Bianca Castiellro (Mexico City) as they share their perspectives on re-imagining educational initiatives through an artist residency at the UNM Art Museum.
The second talk in The Remix Room at UNM Art Museum Series will feature artist in residence León De la Rosa-Carrillo and collaborating UNM faculty. This presentation will focus on reimagining the artist residency classroom collaborations during quarantine to COVID-19.

Late last year, the Center appointed Zeke Peña as its inaugural Art & Ecology Artist-in-Residence for the 2020-2021 academic year. There Must Be Other Names For The River and the UNM Art Museum present conversations to deepen our understanding of this moment in the Rio Grande’s lifespan. Artist and journalist Marisa Demarco hosts a panel discussion with environmental journalist Laura Paskus, hydrologist Phoebe Suina, and water planner Dagmar Llewellyn. Situated in the Middle Rio Grande Valley, the panel will discuss on-going issues surrounding climate change and the river.
