The UNM Art Museum Director Search Committee has invited two additional candidates to campus to give a public lecture at the Museum and following the lecture the UNM Art Museum will host a reception with the candidate. These events are open to the public and we hope that you can join us as we prepare to usher in a new era at the museum. Each candidate will speak about the role of collaboration in museums or in the arts. All events will be at the UNM Art Museum.

Connie Gibbons has more than 25 years of experience leading museums and contemporary visual arts organizations. With expertise in the fields of museum administration, fundraising, collections management, curatorial and exhibition development, museum education, strategic planning, she has served as a peer reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums in their MAP and Accreditation programs. Connie served as director for the Nicolayson Art Museum, the only contemporary art museum in the state of Wyoming; and for Intuit, the Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art in Chicago. She was the founding director for the B.B. King Museum & Delta Interpretive Center in Mississippi. Connie holds a BA in Art from Drury University, Springfield, Missouri; and an MFA from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas.
